Slime Care

1. DO NOT Eat your Slimes - unless it is an edible slime, I know it’s hard to resist the temptation because the slimes look and smell so good, but remember DO NOT!

2. SLIIMES REACT TO WEATHER

Your Slime shouldn’t be sticky to play with so use Activator to lessen the stickiness. Do not add too much activator otherwise you could change the texture and potentially over-activate your slime. Your slime can become hard and stiff by adding too much activator.

3. My Slime is Hard, What do I do?

Three EASY FIX options:

  • Knead in PVA glue (e.g. Elmer’s Glue)

  • Knead in some lotion or baby oil (not recommended for clear slime)

  • Knead in some warm water until your slime is nice and soft again

What does Slime Like and doesn’t Like?

Slime Likes:

  • cool temperatures because it will keep it nice and non-sticky.

  • clean hands because they will keep it clean and germ-free.

  • to be stored in an airtight container to prevent it from drying out.

  • small amounts of activator every now and then.

Slime Doesn’t Like:

  • extremely warm temperatures because it will make it sticky.

  • dirty hands because they will make it dirty and germy.

  • to be left outside of its container for too long because it will cause it to dry out.

MY SLIME IS STUCK TO MY CLOTHES!!!

  • EASY FIX: Since slime is water-soluble it can easily be removed from fabric by washing it in your washing machine or carefully rubbing it out with a wet cloth

WARNING:

  • Do NOT eat slime! (in case of ingestion call the NZ National Poisons Centre on 0800 764 766) or your country's poisons hotline

  • Avoid contact with eyes, mouth and nose. In case of contact wash thoroughly with water!

  • Keep away from clothes, carpet, furniture, pets, and hair!

  • Do NOT use if you have a wound, swelling or eczema on your hands or arms!

  • Do NOT use if you show symptoms such as a rash or itchiness after playing with slime!

  • Always wash your hands before and after handling slime! (especially before eating)
