Slime Care
Slime Care Text.png

With proper love and care, slimes can last for several months. However, it’s completely normal for slimes to deflate or melt over time, especially depending on the weather or how long they’ve been stored. In most cases, fixing your slime’s consistency has a quick and easy solution.

Follow this Slime Princess Slime Care Guide to keep your slime magical for as long as possible:

Before play: Clean your hands and surface. This prevents debris or bacteria from getting into your slime, and keeps your slime looking and smelling fresh!  We recommend playing with slime inside its container or on a smooth surface such as marble, glass, or certain plastic surfaces. Avoid wooden or fabric surfaces, as slime tends to stick to them.

After play: Pop your slime back in its airtight container and seal the lid tightly so it doesn't dry out. Store in a cool environment to avoid it melting quicker. If your slime feels sticky (needs reactivating), you can use a slime activator solution to get rid of that stickiness. You can grab our Slime Princess Spray Bottle Activator here. Wondering What is slime activator? Find out here.

How to fix my slime? What do I do if my slime is...

Too sticky? Often times when a slime is too sticky, it's because it has melted (deactivated slightly). Knead in a drop or two of a slime activator solution in at a time until it is the perfect consistency. You can purchase our Slime Princess Spray Bottle Activator for convience and controlled amount of drops.

Too stiff? Warm in your hands or outside in the sun. Otherwise, you may knead in a drop of lotion.

Dried out? Add a few drops of PVA glue or warm water slowly while kneading to bring it back to life. Please note that doing this will change the texture of the slime. Sometimes, if the slime has dried too much, it may not be recoverable — meaning, it’s time for a new slime adventure!

WARNING:

  • Slimes contain: Borax, Polyvinyl Acetate (PVA) glue

  • Slimes may also include: Colourant, Fragrance Oil, Mineral Oil, Non-toxic craft materials.

  • Do NOT eat slime! In case of ingestion call the NZ National Poisons Centre (0800 764 766) or your country's poisons hotline.

  • Avoid contact with eyes, mouth and nose. In case of contact wash with water.

  • Keep away from clothes, carpet, furniture, pets, and hair.

  • Please be aware, slime is not recommended for those with eczema or those who may have allergic reactions to the ingredients listed above. If you show symptoms such as a rash or itchiness after playing with the slime, please discontinue use.

What is Slime Activator?

What is Slime Activator?

Slime activator is a ready-to-use liquid solution that helps slime form and maintain its smooth, stretchy texture made from a dilution of borax in water. When sprayed onto slime, it helps the slime’s ingredients bond together, tightening the texture and reducing stickiness.

Our slime activator comes pre-mixed in a convenient spray bottle, so it’s ready to use right away. To fix sticky slime, spray a small amount onto the slime and knead well. Add more only if needed until you reach your desired consistency. Using too much at once can make the slime too stiff and less stretchy.

Butter slime doesn't actually have butter in it. But it has a cool buttery-like texture instead which is where it got its name from, because it's so soft and spreadable just like butter! It is more mouldable than most slimes.
